Hermès Carré “Lettres” from 2018. Early on, Hermès started offering its customers the chance to personalise bags, luggage and even clothing. This skill was a continuation of its first méter as a harness-maker and saddler, at a time when horses’ harnesses, blankets and hoods were marked with the initials of their owners. Typography became one of the house designers’ fields of excellence. This particular foulard shows Art Deco alphabet stylised characters in a chestnut brown border and details in black and white.
