Hermès Vintage Carré "L'instruction du Roy"
Hermès Vintage Carré "L'instruction du Roy"
Hermès Vintage Carré “L’Instruction du Roy” designed by Henri d’Origny and first issued in the 1993/1994 Fall/Winter Collection for the 1993 Hermès themed "Year of the Horse." D'Origny pays homage to the craft of Antoine de Pluvinel, the first of the French riding masters and the instructor to many of the royal family of France. The inspiration and name for this scarf came from an ancient French/German book of equitation, “The art and practice of riding a horse”, written by Antoine de Pluvinel in 1629. Frame is green and drawings are in different shades of green, blue, red and yellow. This design was reissued in 2004. Size: apx 90 cm x 90 cm. Composition and care label gently removed (Jacquard Silk). In very good vintage condition. Scarf will be delivered professionally cleaned. A valuable collector's item.
Note: This scarf is made of woven jacquard silk. Hermès no longer produces jacquard silk scarves, due to the expensive production cost. Hermès jacquard silk scarves are becoming rare and highly sought after by Hermès collectors.
